The Migraine Aura
The Migraine Aura is the brainchild of songwriter & composer A.J. Dudick.
Established in July of 2020 at the height of isolation, Dudick, as many other artists did, took the opportunity to begin creation of a psuedo collaborative effort.
The goal was to create a music bed in correspondence with various musicians to pair with a specific vocalist for each song. Somewhat of a backseat approach with a cinematically curated appeal.
The first (selft titled) e.p. contains 5 tracks ranging from new wave & shoe gaze to a heavy, sludgy ending in proper lo fi fashion.
the sophomore release of the single “Camden” explores a pop punk/post rock approaches & invites along the B - Sides “I Don’t Wanna Go To WOrk”, an unabashed Ramones reference, & “Selfish” a deep & spacious arrangement inspired by the stylings of Björk.
These new elements of influence making an appearance in The Migraine Aura’s soundscape signaled a slight departure from the initial sound of the self titled E.P.
Pacific standard time is the third installment in a series of releases from the migraine aura.
p.s.t. is special as it represents a new era in the bands sound as songwriter/composer a.j. dudick steps to the forefront & for the first time, puts his own voice to the lyrics he has crafted.
with a.j. taking command of the vocal RESPONSIBILITIES, a new side of the migraine aura is revealed.
the connection to each message contains imense feeling & the record closes off with the track “the broken curse“ in which dudick states, “we broke the curse, the worst is over”.
